David “Dave” Gronowski, 75, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Dave was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He has one brother whom he shared a close relationship with, and they enjoyed talking cars and politics. He spent two years in Vietnam in the Military Police. He was proud of his service and enjoyed talking to other Vets as well as attending various military functions. Recently he was able to go on the Triad Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. and enjoyed a wonderful day with great memories.

His career revolved mostly around cars. He worked in a factory that manufactured car parts and after leaving, began fleet sales and moved to auto/truck, van sales. He owned many cars over the years and enjoyed them all.

He was married to his wife, Verlaine for 41 years and they enjoyed spending time together traveling- sometimes even on motorcycles. Some of their motorcycle adventures included Canada, Upper Wisconsin, Michigan, the Smokies and Colorado. 

Dave enjoyed many hobbies- reading, music, flying and history. Seven years ago, he and Verlaine decided to leave cold Wisconsin and move to North Carolina. He never regretted that decision. He loved the scenery, the weather and the friendliness and patriotism of the area....

Dave had a very strong faith and loved his new church home, Ebenezer Lutheran in Greensboro. More recently he reflected that he had a good life, did a lot and was satisfied with the past 75 years.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 310 Tremont Drive, Greensboro, NC 27403.
