Eula Grace Dunn
June 29th, 1931 - October 22nd, 2024
Eula Grace (Kreps) Dunn, 93, passed into the loving arms of her Lord on October 22, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by her family.
Eula was born in Greeley, Colorado to Reiner and Clara Kreps on June 29, 1931. She spent her formative years in Colorado before the family moved to Nampa. She continued her high school education and graduated from College High in 1949. Eula married Perry "Jim" Dunn on March 27, 1950. Eula was the owner of D&M Custom Draperies for 35 years. After she retired, she continued to sew patchwork quilts for many family and friends and continued her hobby of making porcelain dolls and their garments.
Her faith in God was the center point of Eula's life. Eula dedicated many years as a Caravan leader and Nazarene Missions president. Although she was unable to personally go, she organized many mission trips in the U.S. and abroad. Eula was deeply committed to supporting missions. For a work and witness mission trip to South Africa in 2016 to build a church, the team wrote on a special brick the words, saying “Eula Dunn was here!!”
Eula was also very devoted to the horse industry in Idaho. She was the show secretary for AQHA, Buckskin, and Open shows, along with the Idaho Reined Cow Horse Association and Snaffle Bit Futurity. She managed the stats for these shows across the Northwest for 35 years and was loved by all for her fairness, accuracy, passion and dedication. In 2013, Eula was inducted into the IQHA Hall of Fame in recognition of her hard work and dedication to this association.
Eula is survived by her husband of 74 years, Jim Dunn; daughters and sons-in-law: Deloris Caruso, Lalani Dunn, and Brenda (James) Lair; grandsons and spouses: José (Kate) Guerra, Rowdy (Lilly) Lair, and Tanner (Bonnie) Lair; great-grandsons: Benjamin Guerra, Wesley Guerra, and Jonathan Guerra; great-granddaughter, Ellie Mae Lair; brother, Arvid (Pearl) Kreps; and many nieces and nephews. Eula is preceded in death by her son, Rodney James Dunn; father, Reiner Kreps; mother, Clara Belle (Zupke) Kreps; and brother, Harold Kreps.
