Gary A. Mullin
Gary A. Mullin, 73, of Memphis, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. He was born in Syracuse, New York, the son of LeRoy and Shirley Mullin. Out of High School, Gary went to serve as a Clinical Specialist in the Army National Guard. Afterwards, he became employed at Welch Allyn where he worked several years in various manufacturing and operational roles. Gary was known among his peers as a problem solver who could innovate and create unique tools that would make tasks easier.
In his personal time, he was always passionate about food and took pride in slow cooking various kinds of meat. He had perfected several recipes that everyone enjoyed. In addition, Gary frequented multiple military surplus stores and enjoyed wearing military clothing. He had a curious mind and was always trying to learn more about various kinds of machinery, engines and equipment. He would take this knowledge and theorize revolutionary solutions to modern day problems such as alternative fuels. He also enjoyed watching horror and comedy films and his distinctive laugh could easily be heard throughout all levels of the house!
Upon retirement, Gary became a regular visitor to the Sunday flea market at the Syracuse regional market. He became a prideful picker and negotiated deals on countless items that he found value in and that could be added to his treasured collections.
Gary lived a fulfilled life and will be remembered by us all as a loving, caring and generous brother/uncle who was a provider that was quick to lend his time, knowledge, tools and other resources to help his family and friends. He will surely be missed.
Gary is survived by his siblings: Craig Mullin, Kathy (Robert) Casey and Michael Mullin as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or services according to his wishes.
