Gertrude Wallace, age 85, of St. Petersburg, FL, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at home with family and loved ones at her side.

Gertrude was born in Whitewood, Virginia on March 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Nathan Edward and Oma Gibson Horn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Wallace, her brothers, H.D Horn and Ralph Horn; and her sisters, Helen Worthy, Lottie Presley and Sara Horn.

She was the loving mother of Pamela Wenslaff (Ken Olmsted), Keith Wallace, Myra (Anthony) Burnside and Mother-in-law to Theresa Wallace, along with her two granddaughters Naomi and Melissa and grandsons, Joshua and Justin. She was a beloved sister of Bobbie (Burt) Keen of Orlando, FL., Darlene (James) Harris of Jacksonville, FL., Fran (Bob) Bond of Lyons, IL., Pat (Mike) Rumer of Vincent, OH., Sharon (Stanley) Ward of Whitewood, VA, and Junior Jesse Horn of Whitewood, VA.

Gertrude lived, worked and raised her family in the suburbs of Chicago for 30 years before moving to St Petersburg, FL. She loved her home in Florida, but always had a special place in her heart for her birthplace in the mountains of Virginia.

She was a longtime active member and supporter of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in St Petersburg. She loved God, her family, the beach, and taking cruises with family and friends.

Funeral services for Gertrude Wallace will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, at the Anderson-McQueen -Tyrone Family Tribute Center located at 7820 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33710 with Pastor Greg Whiting officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery located at 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on October 31st from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral Home.
