Thomas "Jimmy" James Atwood Cross
July 2nd, 1987 - October 24th, 2024
Loving Husband, Father, and Son
Thomas James “Jimmy” Atwood Cross, 37, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024. He was a graduate of Woodford County High School and joined the United States Marine Corps following graduation. He was an avid outdoorsman, over the top UK fan, jack of all trades and was always armed with the worst dad jokes imaginable. Those who knew him best can attest that a baseball cap was mandatory, while shirt sleeves were optional.
Jimmy loved being a father. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Clayton Cross, Owen Cross, Garrett Jaeger, Laura Rosser and their mother, Julia Jaeger Cross. He is also survived by his father, Tom Cross (Michelle); and siblings, AJ Bates (Steven), Robert Hartley (Amy), Cecil Morris (Gjoy), Kim Tabscott (Vince) and Reagan Cross. A large extended family and countless friends are left behind to honor his memory.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his infant son, John Wyatt Cross; his mother Debra Morris Hartley' his step father, Robert Hartley and sister Tracy Hartley Sorrell.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4-7pm, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 1-3:30pm at Payton Hall (Falling Springs Center), Versailles. Jimmy's family requests to “please wear your best UK gear” for the celebration service.
