Norman H. Rodgers, aged 88, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on October 20, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Howard and Alma Rodgers. Norman spent 22 years of his life serving his country in the U.S. Navy, an experience that shaped much of his life and character. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to public service, working in the Civil Service for just over a decade, later to retire in Melbourne, Florida.

Norman was a God fearing, outgoing and friendly person who cherished the company of his many friends and family. Known for his unique way of doing things and his stories, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a devout member of the Rockledge Church of Christ, where he was active.

He is survived by his five children whom he shared with Elizabeth Cutimar Rodgers (preceded in death, 2001), Rufina Lane, Norman R., Melchor, Nathaniel, and Alexander Rodgers; ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; three siblings, sister, Claire Johnigan; and brothers, Wilmer and Dwight Rodgers. Norman also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.

A service to celebrate Norman's life will be held on November 22, 2024, at the Rockledge Church of Christ, 2390 S Fiske Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955. Visiting hours will begin at 9:00am with a service to immediately follow at 9:30am. Following the service, Norman’s remains will be honored at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754, at 11:00am. Contributions can be made to the Rockledge Church of Christ or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation for veterans at Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or floral tributes can be sent in his memory.
