Bruce Milton Jacobsen was born February 28, 1927, and passed away on October 2, 2024. Bruce was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Denver, Colorado to father, Einer Gottlieb Jacobsen, and mother, Myrtle Eleanor Andersen.

Bruce was attracted to horses at young age. He worked at three ranches near Jefferson County, Colorado becoming a cowboy. Later, he worked as the foreman on a ranch near Morrison.

Bruce was drafted into the army during World War II. He was to receive training at Fort Sam Houston near San Antonio, Texas. Instead, was rerouted to the San Antonio Air Cadet Center to begin service in The United States Army Air Corps. Following school he served as a classification specialist at Davis-Mountain Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.

Following discharge, he attended Colorado A&M to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Before formal acceptance into the Vet school, Bruce was recalled into the Korean Conflict and served his term at James Connolly Air Force Base at Waco, Texas.

In 1952, he joined United Airlines as a reservations agent where he met his ‘Favorite Wife’ Anne Frohberg. They married May 1, 1954, and had their sons Erice Bruce and Gregory Gould both born in Denver.

The family was transferred to San Francisco in 1965 where Bruce served as the Perishables Manager and Cargo Sales Manager for northern California. He later became the Manager of Customer Services at United's Oakland Airport in California. In 1981, Bruce returned to his beautiful home, Colorado. He began his retirement in 1985.

Bruce and Anne lived in Longmont and Estes Park for 38 years. They moved back to Denver in 2020.

He was married at Anne Frohberg Jacobsen for 68 years before her death. He is survived by his grandchildren Katie Zain, Kerrie Jacobsen, his great-granddaughter Lucy Rose Viramontes, brother Raymond Hugh Jacobsen, and many close family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Anne, son's Rick and Greg, parents Einer and Myrtle, brothers Paul, Alan, Howard and sister Dorothy Crites.

Bruce often spoke of his travels, his faith, his military service, and gave wisdom of life to all that he spoke to. Bruce always thought of himself as a cowboy and often spoke of those early days on the ranches with many stories. He will be remembered for his jokes and quick-witted nature. His humor reflected in a sentence he wrote in helping put together his memorial. "I wuz here, and, now I’m gone!"

He will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Funeral services will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Church at 10:30AM

3791 Pike Rd, Longmont, CO 80503.
