Griffith-Cline Funeral Home
Patricia Ann Hallett
March 21st, 1942 - October 22nd, 2024
Patricia Ann Hallett, 82, of Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024.
Patricia was born in Bristol, England to Morley and Frances Scofield on March 21, 1942. She met the love of her life, Peter, in 1958 at the tender age of 16, and the two were married four years later. They bought their first house in St. George’s, Bristol and worked hard to make it a home.
A few years later, Patricia and Peter took a journey across the Atlantic on the HMS Queen Elizabeth to embark on a two-year stay in the United States. That two-year stay turned into a lifetime. They settled in Beverly, Massachusetts and had two children, Susan and Stephen. The family later settled in Hamilton, Massachusetts, where Pat’s daily walks and love of dogs brought the whole neighborhood together.
Pete and Pat enjoyed traveling the world together, but she was always happiest in her own home. During one of their trips to India, they spent a week riding the Maharaja’s train known as the “Palace on Wheels”, Pat was awarded the Maharini Trophy for her amazing popularity. This just demonstrates the warmth and kindness that everyone around her felt. Pat had a way of bringing people together.
Pat loved to be outdoors whenever possible. She loved her gardens and daily walks. Pat was well known for her creative abilities that included knitting, jewelry making, and sewing. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and many friends. A longtime friend, Barbara, summed it up in a simple statement, “she was a national treasure on both sides of the Atlantic.”
After many years of being snowbirds on Anna Maria Island, Florida, they moved to Pat’s “happy place” full-time in 2021.
On a recent visit to New Hampshire while surrounded by her children and grandchildren, she expressed just how blessed she was, and what an amazing life she had lived.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Peter, her daughter Susan Hallett Cook, her son Stephen Hallett, as well as six grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron, Kayleigh, Aiden, Colby, and Liam. She is also survived by two sisters, Maureen Headford of Bournemouth England, and Margaret Crowley of Bristol, England, along with her brother-in-law Peter Crowley, three nephews, a niece, and many extended family members.
Patricia leaves behind an unmatchable legacy of love and laughter. She brought love, joy, and warmth wherever she went.
A memorial service and visiting hours will be held at the Griffith-Cline funeral home on November 11, 2024. Visiting hours will start at 1pm with a short service beginning at 2 pm. The family asks that you plant a tree or make a donation to your favorite animal charity in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of life will be held during the summer of 2025 in Massachusetts.
