Born to Desiderio and Aurita Pino on May 31,1934, in Bosque, New Mexico.

After Erlindo graduated from Belen High in 1951, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he traveled the world. He knew and spoke several languages, including Japanese. On February 8, 1975, he married the love of his life, Maria Elena Gutierrez. They missed their Golden wedding anniversary by a few months. As a U.S. Federal Government employe they lived in Italy for a few years. Upon Retirement they moved to Lerma, Mexico, but due to health reasons returned to Albuquerque where he lived the rest of his life. He enjoyed sports, his family, being a small business entrepreneur, as well as an interpreter. Erlindo was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ninfa Yanalavage.

 

 He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena, sister, Christine Reeve and brother, Joe Pino, sisters-in-law, Lita Pino and Guadalupe Foss and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

 

On November 1, 2024, following Mass at 9:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Albuquerque, Erlindo will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
