Franklin “Buzz” Lindstrom was born in Shenango, a mining location near Chisholm Minnesota, on August 23, 1933. He was a graduate of Chisholm High School and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. When home on leave, a girl from his home town saw this handsome man in uniform. When she flirted with him, she smelled Old Spice cologne. They began dating, and on October 20, 1956 they were married, a marriage lasted 68 years and three sons. Buzz needed a good paying job to provide for his family and accepted a temporary position with the City of Chisholm that turned into a 37 year career followed by 31 years of retirement. Buzz loved bluegrass music, playing the Dobro and was a member of a band that produced several CD’s and performed for residents in long term care facilities and other venues. Buzz was never without a coffee cup in his hand. We think his blood type is French roast! Family and friends enjoyed his pancakes, always made from scratch. He was president of the Museum of Mining in Chisholm. Buzz had hundreds of stories – some were even true! He left us peacefully after complications from a fall. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and held a strong faith that his sins were paid in full by Jesus on the cross. Buzz is survived by his wife of 68 years Roz (Castagneri), sister Barbara Kosiak, sons Erik, Luke (Sharon), and Scott (Trisha), granddaughters Amanda, Carly (Josh), Lynea (Alp), new great granddaughter Defne, and extended family and friends. A special thank you to niece Sherry and daughter-in-law Sharon for working tirelessly and endlessly to make sure he had the best final years and days of his life. Thank you to Anna, Lloyd and Donna who helped Buzz and Roz remain in their Chisholm home as long as possible with frequent visits from their very special Wyatt. Buzz was preceded in life by sisters Carol Lindstrom and June Mattson. Thank you to the staff at Ecumen Lakeview Commons where Buzz resided with Roz and where a small private celebration of life will be held.
