Stanley Jay Church, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Greeley, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Church of Evans, Colorado; his sister, Carla Parrack (Brian) of Lakeside, Arizona; and his children: Tracy Church (Cheryl) of Evans, Colorado; Aaron Church (Alison) of Clinton, Utah; and Candace Schebel (Mark) of Iowa City, Iowa. Stan also cherished his 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Warren Church; mother, Helen Church; and brother, Michael Church.
Stan was born on September 12, 1947, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to Warren and Helen Church. He graduated from Brush High School in 1965. Following high school, he enlisted in the Navy, where he proudly served in the Nuclear Submarine Services for 6 years before being medically discharged. Upon returning home, he dedicated 35 years of his career to the Salt River Project as a Control Operator in St. Johns, Arizona.
His children remember him as a hardworking, generous, and determined father who inspired them to chase their goals and dreams. Stan had a deep passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing and camping, and he treasured the time spent with his family amidst nature.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fairacres Manor Memory Care for their compassion and exceptional care during Stan’s time there.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his love, strength, and the joy he brought to those around him.
