Carlos "Russell" Adams

ADAMS – Carlos Russell Adams, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30th, in the presence of his loving family.

Russell is survived by his adoring wife, Maureen Adams, of 52 years. This union was blessed with his two surviving children; Cody Adams and Mary Adams. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by Maureen and his children.

Russell was a Florida Native, born in Tampa, FL on August 22, 1942 on the banks of the Hillsborough River. He was a great father and devoted Christian at Land O’ Lakes Methodist Church and also served as a Founder of the Seeker’s Club of Lake Magdalene Methodist Church. He served his country in the Air Force. He was a Free Mason and as a pillar of his community, his kindness has touched many lives. He enriched his community serving on various Boards, such as, the Founding Board of Lake State Bank, Founding Board of First Citrus Bank, the Foundation Board of PHCC, and the Rotary Club. He served as a mentor actively for The Boy Scouts and taught Real Estate for the University of Florida at HCC. He left behind a big footprint shaping his beloved community, Land O’ Lakes, for the better. He always looked forward to hunting, fishing, golfing, pickle ball and playing basketball with his buddies, but nothing could compare to selling real estate with his son, Cody, for over 60 years as a Realtor. He loved to bring joy to others and, for this, his generous spirit, humor, and joyous personality will be sorely missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

He is survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, please, donate to a charity of your preference to spread the love around.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2024 where services will be at 11:am at the First United Methodist Church, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639.
