Lt. Cmdr. USN (Ret.) Anthony Bruce "Tony" Raymond

Tony Raymond passed October 27, 2024 at his home in Eagle, surrounded by his loving family following a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Tony was born February 11, 1946 in Council, Idaho to Ruth and Orin Raymond, joining brothers Jim and Ralph, and a sister Linda.

The family eventually relocated to Weiser, where Tony graduated from high school in 1964. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1965. While stationed in Mississippi, he met Claudia Miller. The couple married in 1967, and became parents in 1970 to their son, Anthony Bruce Jr. who was later joined by a sister, Kimberly Marie.

Throughout Tony's naval career, the family lived in many duty stations, including Virginia Beach, VA, Whidby Island, WA, Oxnard, CA, Japan, Alameda, CA, and Okinawa, in addition to Mediterranean and Pacific sea duty. Tony retired from naval service in 1997, after attaining the rank of Lt. Commander. The Raymond family then settled in Eagle, where they have resided since.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Anthony. He is survived by his wife Claudia of 58 years, his daughter Kimberly of Eagle, his brothers, Jim Raymond of Eagle and Dr. O. Ralph Raymond of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his sister, Linda Steele of Emmett, daughter-in-law, Jodi Raymond of Kuna, grandchildren Brittney (Ashley) and Nicholas (Courtney), Ashley and Roman Jensen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

An inurnment service with full military honors will be held November 14 at 1:00 at the Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Tony's honor to a favorite charity.
