John “Wayne” Kyzer, a man of boundless curiosity and love for life, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 75. Known for his limitless thirst for knowledge, Wayne was deeply fascinated by the world around him. He loved nothing more than to immerse himself in books and music, often spending hours researching new topics simply for the joy of learning. His ability to engage in conversation was renowned; he thoroughly enjoyed the company of others.

Born on August 27, 1949, Wayne grew up in West Columbia, SC. He graduated from Airport High School and received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Kyzer, who was his constant companion and greatest supporter. He was a devoted father to his son, Jeremy Kyzer, who alongside his wife, Kristen, gave Wayne the joy of being a grandfather to Reid and Wesley, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Wayne is also survived by his sister, Becky Gunter, brother, Don Kyzer and wife, Ronna, sister-in-law, Karen Widdoss and husband, Larry, as well as his nieces and nephews. Wayne cherished his family deeply.  His laughter and stories will be fondly remembered at family gatherings, where his presence was a source of warmth and wisdom.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and an enduring spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His family will have a Celebration of Life in January and invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating his life and sharing the memories that made him so special.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Wayne's honor to the American Cancer Society.
