Robert A Fischer

Robert A. Fischer (Bob), 74, passed away on October 30th, with dignity and grace, after his battle with ALS.   

For all of us who knew Bob, we know he marched to his own drummer.  He graduated Valedictorian of his Jefferson High School class.  After high school, life took him on many adventures, including travels across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Bob was a volunteer with VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America for 4 years where he worked with inner city youth in Decatur, IL.  He never met a stranger.  Throughout his life, he made many friends. All who knew him appreciated his sense of humor and his sincerity. 

Bob was the 4th of the 5 children of Paul and Adele Fischer.  He is survived by his sister, Paula (Fischer) Palmateer and Oran; brothers Dave and Jane (Roth), Steve and Paula (Denissen) and Jim and Linda (Puerner), 3 nieces (Natasha, Amanda and Angela), 1 nephew (Nathan), 6 great nieces and 1 great nephew. 

Bob's family would like to thank the staff at Alden Estates and Rainbow Hospice for their kindness and support of Bob.
