Deborah "Deb" J Wark
December 30th, 1956 - November 2nd, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah "Deb" J. Wark on November 2, 2024 after a two year courageous battle. She passed away at her home with the love of her family surrounding her. Born on December 30, 1956, Deb enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her throughout her vibrant years in Monson.
Predeceased by her father, Donald Fuller and and her cherished siblings, Chris Hammond and Donald Fuller, Deb is now reunited in peace with them. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Stephen J. Wark, and her dear mother, Teresa (Mueller) and sisters, Gail Reardon (Dave) and Sharon Beaulieu (Tom). Her extended family includes sisters-in-law Joanne Hastings (Jeff) and Laurie Drobnak (Stephen), and brother-in-law Michael Wark (Nelson Pastrana). Her stepchildren, Heather Kirby (Sean Bowen), Darcy Wark (fiancé Donald LeBlanc), and Cory Schwalm (Daniel), will continue to honor her memory. Deb was a treasured grandmother to Hayley Bowen, Hayden Schwalm, Austin Kirby, Stephen Kirby, Seamus Bowen, and Elijah LeBlanc. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Deb dedicated an impressive 36 and a half years of service to the Monson Developmental Center, where she left an indelible mark through her role as a buyer before her retirement. Her career was marked by her dedication and commitment to improving the lives of others, an effort highly appreciated by colleagues and the community alike.
A social butterfly at heart, Deb's outgoing and friendly nature enabled her to forge connections with everyone she met. She spent her days engaged in various pursuits, from tending to her adored pets and well-loved fish pond to nurturing the turkeys she fed in her backyard. Beyond her love for animals, Deb enjoyed her role as a bartender in Monson, imbibing the air of camaraderie and fun over card games and her favorite screwball drink. She found joy in participating in her local pitch league, and her talent in playing cribbage and cards was well-known among her friends.
While Deb's passing leaves a void in our hearts, we take solace in remembering the joy she brought into our lives. Her family will hold a private ceremony in her honor, following her wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the TJ O'Connor Animal Shelter in Springfield, MA, to continue the love for animals that Deb so ardently fostered.
Deborah "Deb" J. Wark will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness, sociability, and love for animals will remain with us, guiding our steps and enriching our memories. A special thank you to Beacon Hospice and nurse Jessica Rudolph as well as family friend and caregiver, Cheryl Hastings for their support and care of Deb and her family.
