Paul Estin Haas, age 74, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2024 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his family by his side from a short battle with cancer. Paul is survived and greatly missed by his wife Leonida G. Haas (Munoz) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his sister Kay L. Corken (Haas) of Parker, Colorado and nephews: Clint A. Corken of Aurora, Colorado and Chad A. Corken of Parker, Colorado and niece Crystal Wilson (Haas) of Westminster, Colorado. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brother Ken Douglas Haas.

Paul was born on May 20, 1950 in Denver, Colorado to the late Vernon Edward Haas and Ruby Rose Haas (Rodgers). He graduated from South High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Paul served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1969 – 1975, including 3 years of active duty on the USS Durham during the Vietnam War era.  After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he furthered his education and went on to a successful career as a draftsperson, working at different firms.  His job was to redesign and stabilize roads and bridges in various areas in Colorado.

Paul was active in the sport of track and field, where he won several awards and became one of the best runners in his high school.  Growing up in Denver, Colorado, Paul would always enjoy visiting the “family farm” with his parents and siblings in Kiowa Colorado where his great grandparents homestead in the early 1900’s. Paul always spoke about the exciting and fun times spent at the farm, not to mention the extensive history the farm brought over the years.

Paul's life will be celebrated with a military memorial service at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado on a future date.  A funeral viewing will also be held at the All Veterans and Cremation Chapel on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
