Brenda Jeanne Vaughn, age 74 of Spring Hill, FL formerly of Kingsport, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2024.  Brenda was born on February 19, 1950, in Bristol, VA to Joe and Jeanne Bishop.  Brenda worked many years in the retail and food service industry.  On December 19, 1968, Brenda married her most cherished friend, Barney Vaughn, and for the next 36 years they would share a wonderful life together.  Barney went to be with the Lord in 2005 and now Brenda has been reunited with him. 

Brenda loved cooking, especially sourdough bread, and working in her flower garden.  She loved her family, and she found solace in making plastic canvases.  She loved her daughter’s two dogs, Mae and Edge, as they were her babies too. 

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Barney Vaughn; and one grandson, Christopher Ray Hackney.  Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Becky Hackney and (Ronnie); son, David Vaughn; grandchildren, Colton Hackney (Maria), and Brian Vaughn (Raegan); great grandchildren, Haisley, Connor, Walker, and Ansley; sisters, Debbie Amyx, and Jo Anne Toliver (Kimsey); her bonus mom, BJ Bishop; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.   

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.  A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastors Larry Bledsoe and Randall Neece officiating.
