Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home - Gloversville
James Garner Jenkins
April 20th, 1965 - October 27th, 2024
James Garner Jenkins 59 of Brooklyn, New York was born on April 20, 1965 to the late Warren L. Jenkins Sr. and Ira W. Jenkins. He peacefully passed away on October 27, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital. James was known to family and friends as "Jay" or "JJ".
Jay will be remembered for his kindness, and his sweet and humorous disposition. He loved to watch cartoons, especially Bat-Man and Spider-Man, and he loved to eat. His favorite food was fried chicken and Root Beer. James loved watches, cars, teddy bears, and sunglasses, and had a wonderful collection of the things he loved, especially cars. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially Rap.
As a toddler Jay unfortunately suffered an accident that led to a traumatic brain injury, which was the cause for his developmental disability. In spite of this, Jay still lived a fulfilling and rewarding life, living at the Lexington Arc home for Adults in Fulton County.
Jay leaves behind his loving family, including his older brothers Warren L. Jenkins Jr. and David W. Jenkins; his sister-in-law, Gale; his nephews, Brian, Robert (Nunnie) and David; his nieces, Tonya and Krystal; several cousins, and his beloved family at Lexington.
Aside from his parents, Warren Sr. and Ira, James is also preceded in passing by his sister, Gail Galloway.
With the donations of his organs, three individuals will have another chance at life, which will forever be the legacy that Jay leaves.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, New York, 12078, with a funeral service to follow with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment services will be conducted at a later date, to be announced imminently at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, where Jay will be laid to rest with his parents.
