Juanita Hope Carter

Juanita Carter, born December 9, 1935, in Huron, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Juanita leaves behind four children, Jeff, Brenda, Kendall, and Jay, who will carry on her legacy.  She was also cherished by her 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who brought boundless joy to her life.  Juanita is also survived by her two loving sisters, Phyllis and Kayleen.

Juanita was a beloved member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church, where she found solace, friendship, and purpose.  After retiring from a fulfilling career at Safeway corporate, she enjoyed her well-deserved retirement in North Phoenix, and embracing the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, beaming with pride as she watched them excel in sports, dance, and other activities.  She rarely missed a game or performance while always cheering them on.

With her late husband, Irvin “Bud” Carter, whom she deeply loved and who preceded her in death in 2005, Juanita shared countless adventures.  Together, they raised their children with summers camping along Oak Creek Canyon, and spent their early retirement exploring Arizona and South Dakota in their RV, creating memories and friendship wherever they went.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Juanita's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Vineyard Gilbert, 601 South Cooper Road, Gilbert, AZ 85233.  Please send flower arrangements directly to the church.  Juanita's kind heart and vibrant spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
