Leland Stanford Bacon III
Leland Stanford Bacon III of Lynchburg, VA passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born March 30, 1938, in Lynchburg VA to the late Leland Stanford Bacon Jr. and Minnie Louise Burkholder. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Delores Marlene Widener Bacon, Son Leland Stanford Bacon IV and girlfriend Dianne Saucedo of Lynchburg VA, Daughter Sharon Louise Bacon Brooks and husband Bill of Lynchburg VA. He is also survived by three Grandchildren, Joseph Clay Jackson and wife Erica of Tennessee, Leland Stanford Bacon V and wife Miranda of Tennessee and Joshua Craig Jackson of Lynchburg, VA. He is also survived by five Great Grandchildren. He also has a very close friend Zach Baldridge whom he really enjoyed spending time with. He was a 1958 graduate of E.C. Glass High School and Central VA Community College. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He is a retiree of General Electric and Ericsson with 38 years of service, and he also worked at Nova Tech. He was a member of the 1727 Moose Lodge and a member of Timberlake Church. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling and spending time with Family and Friends. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Timberlake Church. Memorial Service will be held at Timberlake Church on Timberlake Road on Saturday November 16th at 5pm with Visitation one hour prior to service. Reception will be held after the service.
