Raymond Nicolas Amador
September 10th, 1958 - October 26th, 2024
If you knew him well, you know he had room for everyone in his heart.
RAYMOND N. AMADOR (Ramon)
Ramon was born in Matagalpa, Nicaragua where he grew up under the care of his beloved (everyone's grandma) "Mita" as his mom Mercedes came to the US in search for a better future. Later reuniting with her in Seattle in his late teens.
Mita took care of him throughout his childhood & teen years, becoming an important & special figure in his life. He felt privileged to have lived his early years in this humbled-nostalgic childhood home that many of us remember, filled with siblings, cousins and extended family. Sure, maybe a bit chaotic as one can imagine but filled with much fun, love & laughter AND yes, maybe even a few "coscorrones" at times, but, it WAS HOME. He had fond memories of his upbringing, growing up with his cousins who became more like siblings gave him the opportunity of forming special bonds. As was the case with Rosario and Ligia. His relationship with Rosario was special, he looked to her as a big sister even to the very end. Ligia was also like a big sister/ second mom, his "Mamota" as he affectionately called her.
Ramon later in his teens, was reunited with his mom Mercedes, & sister Connie who had come to the US just before him, he came to live with them & little brother Brent. He enrolled at Roosevelt HS, shortly after graduating he enlisted in the US Army, serving many years & following it with many more years in the US Army Reserves. Something that he felt proud of & was dear to his heart. After the Army, Ramon landed a job with the US Postal Service. Where he worked up till recently as he had just retired.
In his mid-twenties he married his childhood sweetheart - Blanca Miriam with whom he later had two kids; Christopher and Nicole, they became his world! Being a dad was something he treasured and enjoyed. You would often find him coaching Little League for Chris or on the living room floor playing Barbie with Nicole. His life came full circle when he became a grandparent to two beautiful granddaughters.
Ramon was caring, with much love to give, he was a private person, respectful of others. If you knew him well, you know he had room for everyone in his heart. He indeed had a good heart, helping anyone that came his way. He was quiet at times but with a great sense of humor… He you would say was Funny and "Cool."
Survived by his wife Blanca Miriam Amador, son Christopher Amador and daughter Nicole M. Amador; siblings Connie Myers, Jose (Pepe) Amador and Brent Budd; two Granddaughters, many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts & uncles.
Ramon: Loved by many, missed by all.
