Shirley Kurtz

July 18, 1936 ~ November 5, 2024

Shirley Kurtz was born to Fred and Margaret Bockman on July 18th, 1936, and passed away at home peacefully on November 5th, 2024, after a battle with COPD.

She attended Fort Collins High School, where she built the foundation for a life filled with love, family, and community.

On April 22, 1955, Shirley married Martin Winfred “Windy” Kurtz. They shared 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Together, they raised two children: Randy & Devin Kurtz. Shirley and Windy farmed in Wellington before moving to Fort Collins in the late 1960’s.

She was a devoted stay at home mom for many years. Shirley later worked as the manager of Foothills Apartment Complex, overseeing 240 units for 14 plus years. She spent several more years managing the Terry Shores Mobile Home Park. 

Shirley was a long-time member of St Peter Lutheran Church, where her faith and dedication to her community were evident.

Shirley is survived by her brothers, Ron and Sonny Bockman; her children and their spouses Randy and Cristy Kurtz and Devin and Pamela Kurtz, four grandchildren Derick Kurtz, Melanie Dalton who is married to Dylan, Daniel Kurtz who is married to Chelsea and Dana Munoz who is married to Angel, four great-grandchildren Daize, Nixon, Cameron and Josiah, and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Fred & Margaret Bockman, her sister Dora Teal and her twin brother Bobby. 

Shirley’s legacy of love, strength, faith and dedication to her family will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.
