Joseph J. Bushek, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024 at home with his family at his side.
Born on August 15, 1951, in Yonkers, New York, son of the late Joseph P. and Margaret (Serovee) Bushek.
Joe is a retired steamfitter of Local 7. In the 1980’s he served as an EMT and firefighter for the Patersonville Fire Department.
Joe is a proud United States Veteran, serving in the Air Force. He had a passion for photography, helping homeless Veterans and for the St. Jude Children Hospital Organization. Together with his wife, they were members of the Sacandaga Harley Davidson Bike Club and the Pine Tree Rifle Club.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathleen (Hallam) Bushek; daughters, Sarah Justine Bushek-Rodriguez (Fernando) and Genevieve Rachel Bushek (Andre Taylor); grandson Jack Rodriguez ; his pups, Sally, Reggie & Rubie; his cat, George.
Memorial services for Joe will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Abounding Grace Christian Church, 3060 Hamburg St. Schenectady, NY, 12303 at 1pm, where a calling hour will be held prior beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis,TN, 38105 or any US Veteran organization.
Joe's care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
