Barbara Lynn Donaldson
May 20th, 1951 - October 15th, 2024
Barbara Lynn Donaldson was born May 20, 1951 in Franklin Township, Pennsylvania to Ray and MaryJane Garrison.
Her father was stationed in Germany when she was 6, Where she met 7 year old Jim Donaldson who she kissed on the cheek in a pup tent while they were playing hide and seek. Their Families remained friends through the years.
After Jim graduated high school in Hawaii, she still had a year of school left. He took her to prom and had a powder blue lei custom made to match her dress. Jim enlisted in the Army and left for boot camp while Barbie went to airline stewardess school. Jim came home for 3 days before he went to flight school, and they got married Christmas eve 1969. Exactly 9 months later she gave birth to her first child Jimmy. 4 years later they found themselves back in Germany, where she gave birth to her second child Tama.
Military life made it possible to live and travel all around the world. After Europe they moved to Hawaii to live on Oahu at Schofield Barracks. They lived there for about 5 years. After Hawaii they moved to Chicago. The kids were growing up and Jim was nearing retirement. When it was time for retirement they moved to Colorado in 1989. Barbie loved being a mama, wife, and homemaker. She tried to find the good in everybody. She always said to think happy thoughts. Her smile could brighten a room like a ray of sunshine. Her laughter was infectious, Especially because she was usually the last to get a joke. Everybody that met her loved her.
The last thing she did was smile at Jim, Blew him a kiss and gave him a little wink and said she'd see him in the morning. She passed peacefully October 15th, 2024 around 1:30pm.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father and her older brother RF Garrison II. She is survived by her Husband Jim Donaldson, son and daughter in law, Jim and Joy Donaldson. Her daughter and son in law Tama and Phil Garcia. Her Sister Jean Garrison and her grandchildren Kaleb and Mack Garcia. As well as many nieces and nephews.
This is not goodbye, only until we meet again. She always said when I'm gone don't sit around crying, but remember all the happy memories. Remember her smiling and laughing and loving.
She also said when it's time for her to go she would not be afraid. She knew she was going to heaven, to our heavenly father and she would watch over us until it was time for us to join her.
