Gerald "Jerry" Edward Burns

Gerald “Jerry” Edward Burns, aged 78, passed away on November 2, 2024, in Westminster, Colorado. He was born on November 28, 1945 in Bowie, Texas.

Jerry graduated from Moriarty High School before furthering his education at New Mexico State University. During The Vietnam War, Jerry served in the Brown Water Navy as a Fire Control Technician. 

Professionally, Jerry dedicated many years to Arizona Public Service and concluded his career as a software consultant at Mincom, Inc. in Denver, Colorado.   

Jerry was a family man above all, immensely proud of his children and cherished his role as Papa to his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Brenda Sue (Rowland); son, Robert Burns and his wife, Shelby; daughter, Suzanne Burns; and grandchildren, Connor and Lauren Burns. He also leaves behind his sisters, Betty Curbo and Elizabeth Bezeredi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Vera Burns; brother, David Burns; grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.   

A memorial service and inurnment for Jerry will be held in the Spring 2025 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
