Buddy Stuart Bellamy, age 78 of Mount Carmel, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Buddy was born on February 24, 1946, in Sullivan County, TN to Stuart and Bettie Bellamy. Buddy worked for Eastman for 30 plus years; and he was the owner and operator of FiberCom Laboratory. On December 27, 1967, Buddy married the love of his life, Brenda McMackin, and after 56 years of a beautiful marriage together and raising a family, she survives.
Buddy loved his family and friends. He was an avid drag racing driver for twenty years and set several track records. Buddy excelled in sports while attending Church Hill High School, especially as a quarterback. He also enjoyed playing racquetball with his son and close friends. Buddy was a charter member and served as an Elder at West Ridge Presbyterian Church in Mount Carmel.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts and uncles. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Bellamy; son, Chad Bellamy and wife Lori; two grandchildren, Joshua Bellamy and wife Emily, and Madison Bellamy; sister, Jo Bellamy; sister-in-law, Linda Repass and husband Mickey; nephew, Jon Simpson; niece, Sabra Simpson; and many loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Jeff Morelock officiating. Special music will be provided by Michelle Shanks.
