Tamika Nicole Singleton passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 48. She was born on August 1, 1976, in New York, NY, to Alice Levy and Michael Singleton.
Tamika’s family moved from Spring Valley to Garnerville, where she attended North Rockland High School, graduating in June 1994. For the past 17.5 years, she was a valued team member at G.I. Associates in New City, NY, until she had to leave earlier this year due to her health.
Eight years ago, Tamika was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis, a lung disease that presented challenges over time. Despite her illness, she remained resilient, keeping her spirits high and joining gatherings whenever she could.
Tamika is lovingly remembered by her mother, Alice Levy; her fathers, Michael Singleton and Earnest Levy; her stepmother, Joan Holt-Singleton; her brother, William Slaughter; and her sisters, Alicia Levy, Arlene Johnson, and Jasmin Singleton. She is also survived by her Aunt Cindy Slaughter, Uncles Vincent Hyman and James Wallace, cousins Latoya DeLeon and James (Matt) Sanders, niece Laila Ventura, and two godchildren, Alana Ramirez and Zaniqua Johnson. Cherished by her five heartbeats Zhane A. Peart, Adrian A. Royster, Zaniya A. Paupaw, Zaireah A. Grant, and her unborn grandson, “Baby Romain” who she was eagerly waiting the arrival of.
Tamika loved hosting gatherings and truly enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends. She was known for her love of dressing up and dancing, often bringing life and joy to any event. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including many close friends, childhood companions, and countless nieces and nephews.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her, and the moments they shared will be cherished always.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at T.J. McGowan Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, 11 AM at the funeral home by private cremation.
