Carol Marie Holtz

Carol Marie Holtz, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at the age of 74, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Born on August 7, 1950, to Sally and Earl Schilling, Carol lived a life devoted to family, faith, and education.
Carol spent 51 years in the field of education, where she touched countless lives as a teacher, principal, and Director of Education.
Many of those years were spent with the Yuba County Office of Education, where her compassionate leadership and commitment to student success left a lasting impact on the community.
Carol's legacy as an educator continues to inspire the students and colleagues who were fortunate to learn from her and work alongside her.
Carol was the cherished wife, of Richard Holtz, her devoted husband of 52 years. She is also survived by her loving sister, Penelope Maragia (Michael); brother, Ralph Schilling (Irma); her four children, Dawn Beyer (Bryan), Sandra Sledge (Darryl), David Holtz (Summer), and Tammy Roy (Timothy); and her grandchildren, Kiesele Beyer, Bailey Beyer, Austin Holtz, Christian Holtz, Andrew Holtz, Harrison Roy, Madeline Roy, and Benjamin Roy. Carol also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will remember her warmth and kindness.
A Funeral Mass to honor Carol's life will be held on November 12, 2024, at 11 AM, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with a gathering for refreshments to follow at her home.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in memory of Carol's brave fight and enduring spirit.
Carol's life was a testament to love, resilience, and service. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those she inspired.
