Donald Randy Twitty
November 30th, 1946 - November 7th, 2024
Mint Hill, NC — Donald Randy Twitty, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Known affectionately as Randy, he was born in Lancaster, SC, on November 30, 1946, to the late James Carl Twitty and Ruby Sowell Twitty. Randy was the beloved husband of Rebecca “Becky” Twitty.
Randy proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Bronze Star Medal recipient for his valor during the Vietnam War. He spent 24 years with Ford Motor Company, following his tenure at Springs Industries in the heating and air department.
Randy was an avid golfer, a passionate fan of the USC Gamecocks and the Dallas Cowboys, and cherished the time spent socializing with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rebecca Twitty; his children, Angie Brown (Preston) of Blythewood, SC, Brian Twitty of Charlotte, NC, Lisa Paysour (Steve) of Rock Hill, SC, and Rob Grass of Charleston, WV; his grandchildren, Megan Shettle (Kenny) of Columbia, SC, Jacob Paysour of Rock Hill, SC, and Phoenix Pruitt of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Ella Shettle; and a brother, Darrell Twitty (Gloria). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Twitty was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Shep’s, 8111 Fairview Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227.
Randy will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
