Terri Lynn (Creasey) Rice

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you our lovely Terri Lynn Creasey Rice passed away on November 4, 2024, at the untimely age of 64.

Born May 14, 1960, in Paris, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven W. Rice, Castle Rock, Colorado, her wonderful parents, Freddy (Fred) B. Creasey and Dale Rogers Creasey Herrick, as well as her amazing bonus-father Ralph Robert Herrick.

Her torch is carried forward by her brother Tom (Megan) Creasey, (Lexington, KY); daughter Sara Penn, granddaughter Alexandria Penn, (Frankfort, KY); nephew Clark Creasey, (Lexington KY); bonus-mother Beverly Creasey, (Shelbyville, KY); bonus-siblings Scott (Tracy) Herrick, (Montclair, New Jersey); John Herrick (Michael Lovett), Charlotte, NC; Susan (Alice) Rutkowski-Herrick, Burlington, Vermont; Tom (Kim) Herrick, Charlottesville, Virginia; and extended family of  the Rice Clan, Bert Rice (Montana), Kevin Rice (Colorado), Dan, Emma, Megan, and Katie Rice (Colorado).

Terri attended Paris High School, Paris, KY, where she was a band member, never losing her love of music, especially live performances. She was a 1978 graduate of Franklin County High School (Frankfort, KY), later attending the University of Kentucky and earning her nursing degree from Northern Pioneer College.

For her helping others, by volunteering at the women’s shelter in Arizona and in many different nursing positions was her calling. Gardening, knitting, and literature were her favorite ways to unwind, with Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes topping the list.

She was a beacon of love and friendship who shall be deeply missed by many, not just her friends and family but fellow nurses, doctors and the many, many patients she helped some a thousand miles away.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
