Archie Wayne Stewart, 85, was born March 12, 1939 in Cameron, NC. He went to his Heavenly home on November 10, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was the son of Dewey Stewart and Rachel Stewart, both deceased. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Melton and Linda Kay Stewart and one brother, Alvis Stewart.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Linda Mabe Stewart; two daughters, Alesa Stewart and Jennifer (Chris) Dicksey; and one granddaughter, Saylor Dicksey. Also leaving to cherish his memory are his granddogs, Chloe, Dolly, Roxy and Bodie. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Carl Mabe and wife, Linda; sisters-in-law, Claudia Mabe and Irene Mabe; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stewart went into the Navy at the age of 17, he got to travel the World. He was employed by Roadway Express for 34 years with 3 million safe driving miles. Wayne loved to travel with his family. They had traveled to all the states but one. He also enjoyed taking cruises. His greatest joy was being with his family at the beach and in the mountains.
The family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel.
A graveside service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Mabe Family Cemetery, 472 Monorat Road, Woodlawn, VA 24381.
