"Lord its been a Mighty Good Day."

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Perry J. Jones Sr. is a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and cherished friend. Perry left us on Monday, October 21, 2024, in his home after retirement from the Boston Public Schools in Gilbert, Arizona. Perry was a man of great character, known for his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and community.

Born in Neptune, NJ, Perry lived a life full of love, hard work, and passion. He dedicated his career to Culinary Arts, where his contributions left a lasting impact. Perry's legacy is one of resilience, generosity, and integrity—values he passed on to those lucky enough to know him.

Perry found immense joy in researching the latest technology and innovations, world politics, and American history. He loved watching boxing, traveling to new places, and he enjoyed hanging at the casino with the people he cherished most, and his greatest source of pride was his legacy. A hard-working father for his family and a wise grandfather, he always emphasized the importance of love, unity, and education. His wisdom, sense of humor, and caring spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his brother, Charles Jones, and his sister, Victory Ann Jones, including his children, his sons Perry "Jennell" Jones Jr. and Robert "Lil Rob" Wilson II, and his daughters, De’Aria Edith Jones and De’Aundra Jean Adams. And his grandson Robert "James" Wilson III, whom he helps raise as his own, and grandchildren,  Janell, Jerome, Sharlynna, Perry Jr., Chekema, Deondre, Zotaya, Samaria, Lailah, Ashanti, Jonathan, Keyari, Keon, Garrett.

Perry was preceded in death by his two loves, his first wife, Barbara Jean Jones, and second wife, Donna Marie Wilson-Jones. His mother, Charlie L. Jones & father, Joesph Jones Sr.; his brother, Joesph “Lil Joe” Jones Jr., and sister, Carolyn Mitchell; his daughter, Elida Ann Jones; his sons, Dwayne Jones, Darryl Jones, Derrick Jones, and youngest son, Kenniel Anthony Jones. As a testament to the power of love and the importance of community, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Ceremonial service will be held on November 23rd, 2024, at Syria Temple 89 Norfolk St. Dorchester, MA 02124. Please consider a donation instead of flowers.

We thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Perry's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. A life well lived is a life worth celebrating. We can't wait to see you all there.
