**In Loving Memory of Richard Mathias Hobza**
Richard Mathias Hobza, born on November 18, 1951, originally from Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in Falls Church, Virginia, on November 3, 2024.
A beloved father, Richard is survived by his children: Frank Hobza (Monserrat Hobza), and Ariel Pryor, who, along with her husband Rodney, blessed him with two cherished grandchildren, Sebastian and Natalia Pryor. His family was the heart of his world, and he dedicated much of his life to loving and supporting them. His time spent in the company of his grandchildren brought him particular joy, cementing memories that will echo through the rest of their lives.
Preceded in death by parents, Mathias & Angela Hobza, brothers-in-law Larry Worshek (husband of Mary) and Jeff Irons (husband of Theresa). Richard also leaves behind his siblings: Jim Hobza (Kass), Mary Worshek, Matt Hobza, Jude Hobza (Lynn), and Theresa Irons, all of whom fondly remember his playful spirit and loyal nature.
Richard was a beacon of wisdom, generosity, and ambition. While his humor was one of his especially defining traits, it was truly his unwavering love for his family that defined him most. With honesty and compassion, he guided his loved ones through life’s challenges, leaving behind lessons in humility and laughter.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Richard’s life. A viewing will take place on Monday, November 18th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Advent Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, at 11:00 AM at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church, with interment to follow at 1:00 PM at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
Richard's legacy of laughter, love, and devotion to family will be cherished and carried forward by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In these times of parting, may we treasure and find comfort in the memories Richard left us with.
