It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of David Holleran Booher, on 06 November 2024, at the age of 71. Dave’s boisterous personality and orneriness will be missed tremendously.

Born on 22 May 1953 in Topeka KS, to John and Irene Booher. He grew up with his four siblings, Cheryl, Jack, Gary, and Chris in a military family, moving often. In 1967, the family moved to Mascoutah, IL where Dave graduated from Mascoutah High School in 1971. He moved with his family to Mountain Home, ID shortly thereafter and attended Boise State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Following his graduation, he became enamored with a Caldwell beauty, Anita Shoemaker, and the two married in 1978. Over their 46 year marriage, they welcomed six children and twelve grandchildren.

Dave had a 34 year tenure in the auto industry where he met lifelong friends. His career stretched from sales at Twin Cities Toyota to finance at Happy Day Ford (Larry Miller Ford), in Caldwell ID. Dave joined the Dennis Dillon family as the Finance Director and was with Dennis Dillon until his retirement in 2017.

A true bargain hunter, Dave was always in pursuit of a great deal. He always knew the best price in town and wouldn’t let it pass him by!

Family was the center of everything he did. Dave was always wherever his kids and grandkids were. He was an avid bowler and loved spending days at the lake boating with the people most important to him.

Dave is survived by his wife, Anita, his six children, Sabrina Cluff, Michael (Candice) Booher, Nicholas Booher, Jessica (Dustin) Cardoza, Vanessa Booher, and Jeffery Booher, his twelve grandchildren, Dylan, Jonathan, Pyper, Jaelyn, Anthony, Jax, Kaeliana, Camdynn, Kian, Logan, Kinsley, and Aspen and his four siblings Cheryl (Glen) Dawson of Belleville IL, Jack (Carol) Booher of Boca Raton FL, Gary Booher of Boise ID, and Chris (Debbie) Booher of Flower Mound, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Booher, his in-laws, William, Patsy and Steve Shoemaker.

A public memorial for Dave will be held at Summers Funeral Home (3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian ID 83646) on the 25th of November 2024 at 11:00am with the burial to follow at Dry Creek Cemetery (960 W. Hill Rd., Boise ID 83714).
