John Harold Ellsworth

John Harold Ellsworth, 75, of Tampa Fl. was tragically and unexpectedly lost to a heart attack on Friday November 1, 2024.

John was born in Kingston NY on February 26, 1949, to Harold and Betty (nee Wells)] Ellsworth, and was their only child. John was educated at Kingston High School before obtaining an associate’s degree from Ulster County Community College, after which obtaining a job with IBM. John subsequently assumed ownership and worked in a small self-owned business in car repairs, before working at Simulaids and Hannanford.

John met the love of his life, Susan, in 1988 on a blind date. 8 years later, excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on October 5, 1996, in Saugerties N.Y.

John was preceded in death by his father Harold and Betty, and is survived by his wife Susan, son Eric, daughter Lisa, son in law Scott and grandchildren Brook and Beau.

John’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. John treasured the time with his grandchildren and loved being their Grandpa, never failing to visit on birthdays and Holidays, as well as calling whenever he could.

Although John had many pets as a child, he loved his Doberman, Titus. John had many friends throughout High School and into his adult life. He never failed to call them and keep in touch. Everyone knew how much John loved the beach while collecting shells, collecting coins and spelunking for crystals.

John will always be remembered for his smile and the way that he would help others in need. Susan couldn’t have asked for a better spouse and will miss John every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him and loved him. 

A showing will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday November 15, 2024, at Loyless Funeral Homes 5310 Land O Lakes Blvd., Land O Lakes, Fl 34639. Donations to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
