It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Conway T. Johnson, of West Melbourne. He died on Monday, November 11, 2024 after complications related to late-stage Parkinson’s disease. Conway was born on March 16, 1938 in Rockford, IL. He had been a resident of West Melbourne for the past 26 years.
Conway served in the Army and afterwards earned an engineering degree from the University of South Dakota. Following his graduation, he married the love of his life, Christine Verble and eventually moved to Lakeland, Florida with his family.
Before retiring in West Melbourne, Conway had worked as a civil engineer for Mobile Chemical Company. Members of his beloved family include his brother Rolf Johnson (wife Beverly), daughter Nicole Hymel (husband Brett), son Eric Johnson (wife Jennifer), and his five grandchildren-Brett Jr., Corey, Owen, Emily and Melanie. He is predeceased by his wife, Christine Johnson, his son, Martin Johnson, and his sister, Mirana Landstrom.
Conway will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his dry sense of humor, his motivation to improve on the golf course, his conservative values and his love of reading.

A graveside service will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 Rt. 1 Rockledge on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
