Stella Lita was born in Prisicani Bulgaria, but moved to Lenauheim Rumania after World War 2 was over and the German occupation was defeated. She was an only child and grew up to become a High School instructor/teacher. She met Donald Dumitru Lita in 1963 at which time they married and had two children, Sorin Dan Lita and Laura Dana Lita. During the height of communism, September 1, 1979, the whole family escaped by foot in the middle of the night through Yugoslavia and then on to Austria to request political asylum in the United States. Once there, Stella worked hard along with her husband, sometimes three jobs if necessary, in order to be able to own their first home. Once the children were older Don and Stella moved to the northwest to start their own Adult Care Foster Home. During the remainder of her life and well into her 80s Stella took care of the elderly providing for their every need. Stella was a born again Christian and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Stella lost her battle with Dementia at the age of 86 and passed away peacefully November 11, 2024. She is proceeded by her loving husband Donald Dumitru Lita, and her son Sorin Dan Lita. She is survived by her daughter Laura Hixson and her husband Michael Hixson, her grandson Jonathan Bocaniciu along with his wife Naomi Bocaniciu, great grandsons Lucas and Caleb; grandson Christopher Bocaniciu along with his wife Ashley Bocaniciu, and great grandchildren Arya and Dean; grandson Nathan Hixson; granddaughter Samantha Hixson; grandson Danny Lita. A grave side memorial will be held Tuesday November 19, 2024 at 2pm at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes in Happy Valley OR.
