Joy Eivor Springer

 Dearly beloved sister and friend, Joy Springer, passed away peacefully at Enloe Hospital last month after many years of living with debilitating illness. Eivor, as she was known by family, was born and raised in Sweden where she earned a degree in Montessori early childhood education. In 1965, Joy emigrated to the United States, first living in Los Angeles, where she became a devout Christian and met her husband, Michael. Some years later, Joy and Michael moved to Chico where Joy resided for the rest of her life. For many years while she was still in good health, Joy enjoyed commuting by bicycle all over Chico to her house cleaning jobs. Joy loved nature and she adored young children. She was a sensitive, thoughtful and exceptionally caring person. Despite living on a small fixed income, Joy gave generously to her friends and Christian charities. In her last year of life, Joy was lovingly cared for by her devoted IHSS worker, Dale Eiselt. Joy is survived by her sister, Anita Aslund of Sweden. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family in Chico and Sweden.
