Thomas "Tom" Allen Kaznowski, Jr.

Thomas Allen Kaznowski Jr. (Tom), Age 95, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024 in Punta Gorda, Florida, surrounded by his wife of 75 years, his daughter Patti, and son-in-law Thad. Tom was born on July 21, 1929 in Cheektowaga (Erie County) New York, and was a longtime resident of Brockport, New York and North Fort Myers, Florida prior to moving to Punta Gorda. He was a 3-letter high school athlete - football, basketball and baseball. His love of baseball propelled him to the Cleveland Indians farm team as a catcher. Sadly, a broken thumb derailed his hope to advance to the major leagues. Tom was a supervisor for Matthews & Fields Lumber Company that provided doors, windows, and millwork for the Rochester, New York home building industry. A member of the Brockport Lions Club since 1956, he was president for one year, and received the prestigious Melvin Jones Award for exceptional service to others. Tom was an avid golfer up until age 92, an avid bowler, and enjoyed summer Canadian fishing trips where he caught a memorable 5-pound bass. Tom and Ruth celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on October 15th 2024.

Tom is survived by his wife Ruth Hoffman Kaznowski, five children: Cheryl (Allen) Warner, Patricia (Thad) Hetherington, Thomas (Patricia) Kaznowski, Cookie (Paul) Dreschler, and Joe (partner Gina Frederick) Kaznowski. Also surviving him are 11 grandchildren: Mary Jane (William) Coles, David (Dale) Warner, Hilary (Andrew) Bailor, Paige Hetherington, Thomas (Megan) Kaznowski, Christine Kaznowski, Melissa Kaznowski, Katherine Kaznowski, Timothy (Kristen) Dreschler, Logan (Jeff) Barton, and Chase (Allie) Kaznowski; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanore Difede; and four nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas

and Emily Kaznowski. A Celebration of Life will be held later. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Brockport Lions Club c/o Charles Deacon, 7157 Fourth Section Rd. Brockport New York 14420.
