Mark E. Shanley of Parker, CO, formerly of Hanover, MA, passed away, surrounded by loving family and friends, on November 12, 2024, after a brief illness.  

Born in Boston, Mark was raised in Hanover, MA where he developed countless lifelong friendships and the best of memories.  

As a young child, Mark fell in love with playing ice hockey which became a lifelong passion. After graduating from Framingham State College, Mark followed his childhood friend, Sean Leonard, formerly of Hanover, MA, to Colorado and never left. 

Mark was always an exceptional athlete and was a valuable player on the following ice hockey teams: Craig Hospital, Bandits, Ogilthorpes, Business Class, CEO League, and of course, the Grey Wolves. Mark was also an amazing softball player and played as recently as August of this year with the Castle Rockies, along with many other teams throughout his life. 

Above all, the greatest joy of Mark's life has always been, his children. Mark was a loving, playful, involved, supportive dad. He loved attending their gymnastics competitions and sharing their achievements with others.  He was so proud of his three daughters and took great pride in them and their loving, creative, fun personalities and talents. 

Mark is predeceased by his father, John W. Shanley and his mother, Mary Jane Coghlan, of Hanover. A beloved father, brother, uncle (favorite), and friend to many, Mark leaves behind his daughters, Natalie Shanley, Savannah Shanley, and Keira Shanley of Parker, CO, his former Wife, Ginny (Dowdy) Shanley of Parker, CO, his former partner, Katelyn (O'Keefe) Finley of Parker, CO, and his dog, Molly, his seven siblings, John Shanley of Framingham, MA, Michael Shanley of FL, Carol Randolph of Providence, RI, Paula Delaney of Kingston, MA, Mary Jane Shanley of Hanover, MA, Joseph Shanley of Quincy, MA, Jacqueline Shanley of Carver, MA, many nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and numerous amazing friends whom became extended family.
