All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Dennis O'Shea
March 22nd, 1934 - October 29th, 2024
Dennis O’Shea passed peacefully in his sleep on October 29, 2024. He was 90 years old. Dennis was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 22, 1934.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary O’Shea; his brothers, Chuck O’Shea and Jim O’Shea; his wife, Audrey O'Shea; and his daughter, Kristy O'Shea.
He is survived by his son, Darin O’Shea, and his grandchildren, Ryan O’Shea, Morgan O’Shea, Delaney Tucker, and Dalton Tucker.
Growing up in Toledo, Dennis played all sports and was placed in the Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Alabama on both a football and basketball scholarship.
In the 1955-56 season, Dennis became an All-American on the basketball team, which was the first team to go undefeated in the SEC and the first team to go over 100 points on Kentucky.
Dennis married his college sweetheart, Audrey Fairbrother, and they were together until she passed in 2021.
After College, Dennis proudly served his country in the US Army in the field and on the court as he represented the US here and overseas.
In 1959, Dennis moved to Denver, which he would call home until his death.
Dennis worked and played for the DC truckers. He was a stockbroker most of his life, but over the years, he also coached boys and girls in football, basketball, and softball, where he touched and influenced many lives in a very positive way.
He was a loving husband, father, and joyful, true friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. One of his doctors recently said, “He is the happiest and most interesting man I have ever met!”
Dennis went on to play basketball in several Sr. Olympics up to 80 years of age!
Funeral services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Friday, November 22nd, at 1:00 p.m., starting in the B-stating area. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life immediately following the service at Monohon’s, one of his favorite restaurants located just east of the Cemetery.
