Louis Joseph Visslailli passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, at the age of 81, in Blythewood, SC.
Born on July 20, 1943, Louis was a true example of generosity and charm throughout his life.
Louis led a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a commitment to his community. Louis proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967, serving his country with honor. After his military service, he continued to serve his community as a patrolman and detective with the Nassau County Police Department, a role he embraced with integrity and pride.
Louis was not only a dedicated serviceman and officer but also a true gentleman, known for his wit and charm. He had a way of making everyone around him smile and laugh. He treated everyone with respect, making anyone who knew him feel immediately at home in his presence.
Passionate about his Italian heritage, he was deeply engaged in researching his family history, always eager to learn more about his roots. He was a talented cook, known for his homemade limoncello and traditional Italian dishes. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, he could be found watching every Yankees game each season. He also enjoyed golfing and was a dedicated cigar aficionado.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jean, and his brother Thomas. He leaves behind a loving family who cherished every moment spent with him. He is survived by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 56 years, Pamela; daughters Nicole Visslailli (Nick), Patrice Sansbury (Eric), Kara Turchiarelli (Danny), and Laura Torrence (Jason); grandchildren Vanessa, Meaghan, Courtney, Louis, Nicholas, Gianna, Anthony, Gabriella, Sophia, and Liam; and great-grandchildren Stella, Katerina, Jackson, and Julianna. His legacy of love, humor, and generosity will live on through them.
Louis will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His life will be celebrated privately by his family.
