William "Gary" Aeh
May 29th, 1950 - November 18th, 2024
William “Gary” Aeh, known as “William” to his friends and “Gary” to his family, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in St Petersburg, Florida. He was born on May 29, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio.
Gary is predeceased by his loving wife, Deborah Aeh, who passed away in April 2023, his late mother, Betty Opperman, father, William Aeh, and sister, Marilyn Baker. He will also be missed by his extended family, Keith and John Baker. Gary loved Shar Pei dogs, and Louis, his most recent pet, kept Gary going during his health struggles. Louis passed away in August of this year.
Gary served in the navy four years during his early life, but most of his career was spent at the US Postal Service working as a mail processor on the sorting machines. That is where he met his wife, Deborah, and they married in 1996. They had no children, although treated the doggies as their kids.
Gary lived in Florida most of his adult life, retiring in Port Charlotte. He recently moved to St Petersburg after his wife's death, a place where he felt comfortable and had lived in the past. Gary had many friends and neighbors in Port Charlotte who looked out for him, and watched over him during his health issues. Many thanks to all those thoughtful friends.
Gary's final wish was to rejoice in his rejoining with “Deb” and their fur kids. Per his request, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in the future. Date and time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to pet shelters in honor of his love of animals.
