Karen Southwick Haney
January 17th, 1937 - November 13th, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Karen Southwick Haney on November 13, 2024, at the age of 87. Karen was born on January 17, 1937 in Ogden, Utah where she spent her childhood raised by her loving parents Harold Southwick and Lacelle Shupe Southwick. Karen was the only daughter, but she had five brothers; Harold Roger, Neal Shupe, David William, Theron Blake, and Mathew Dean.
Karen is preceded in joining the Lord by her mother and father, and her brothers Roger and Neal.
Karen is survived by the love of her life and devoted husband of 68 years, Leo Ernest Haney, son Dennis Haney and his wife Debie Haney, daughter Denise Lewis and her husband Jim Lewis, and son Dale Haney and his wife Lori Haney. Sister-in-Law and wife to Roger, Sandy Southwick, as well as sister-in-law Marilyn Southwick, wife to Neal. Her brothers David and his wife Charlene Southwick, Blake and his wife Jana Southwick, and Mathew and his wife Vickie Southwick. Her best friend and cousin, Patsy Anderson. Her grandchildren A.J. and Courtney Lewis, Heather and Kevin Ruelas, Kristine and Buz Russell, Justin and Leslie Lewis, Tammi and Chris Burdin, Nicole Haney, Tessa Haney, Nick and April Brandt, and Olivia Elk and Dexter Sung. Additionally, Karen is survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Karen lived her life fully, always surrounded by and giving love. Love for her friends, love for her family, and love for the Lord. Though her loss is grieved deeply by all who knew her our hearts are comforted knowing she is at peace.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 25th, 2024, at The Church of the Latter Day Saints located at 790 South Haskett Street, Mountain Home, Idaho, 83647. The viewing will be from 11:00 am until 12:30pm, funeral service from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, and grave side service will be from 2:30 pm until 3:30pm.
