In Loving Memory

Ismael “Mayo” Perez was called home to The Lord on October 29, 2024 at the age of 54. Mayo was born on March 19, 1970 in El Centro, CA. He grew up in Salinas and attended Alisal High School. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Compass Church. He loved serving at church and was loved by so many there. He loved The Lord and he will be remembered by his gentleness, kindness, and compassion. He loved to help feed the homeless and was happy to be apart of “Iron Sharpens Iron” ministry. He worked for McCormick Schilling and also a local seed company. Growing up he was a member of the card club Nu Trend.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Pauline “Paulina” Perez and their dog Micah. Parents Daniel and Elena Perez, brother Danny (Judith) and sister Cynthia along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family. He touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

His wife would like to thank his therapists at Salinas Speech Pathology and Montage Wellness for the care given to Mayo. Also a huge thank you to our neighbors, close friends, and church family for their support during this difficult time.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 10am viewing, 1pm service, Garden of Memories to follow, and reception at Compass Church on Padre Drive in the wing room.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
