It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda C. Scurfield, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Linda peacefully entered into the Lord’s loving arms on November 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will forever be remembered.

Born on October 16,1951 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Lewis Charles "Bill" Russell and Eva F. Russell Stanton. Linda was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength to all who knew her. She grew up in Charleston, South Carolina where she led a fulfilling life as a wife and mother. Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the loving wife of Mendel Scurfield; a devoted mother to Rebecca Brown and Stephen Collins (Lindsay Collins); and a doting grandmother to Patricia Maxwell, Alan Brown, Jennifer Brown, Austin Lunsford, Casey Lunsford, and Victoria Lunsford. She loved her family deeply and she cherished every moment spent with them. Linda’s home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her delicious cooking, which brought everyone together.Linda was known for her generous spirit and her unwavering faith. Her friends and community knew Linda as a kind soul, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Her kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.

In her free time, Linda found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to walk on the beach and to watch the river, often sharing these joys with her loved ones. Whether spending time by the water or spending time with her family, Linda found beauty and peace in the everyday moments. Linda’s loving spirit will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched. In addition to her husband, children, mother, and grandchildren Linda is survived by six siblings: David J. Stanton of Charleston; Valerie M. Davey (Albert), Valerie “Jean” Cowling, and Bill Wood (all of England); Dorit Hohoff (Hartmut) and Edith Kruger (Frederick), both of Germany; sisters-in-law Linda Alderson (Pat) and April Meek (Randy); brother-in-law Tracy Scurfield, sister-in-law Sondra Russell, along with eight nieces, 13 nephews, 13 great-nieces, 11 great-nephews, one great-great nephew, and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her father Lewis C. Russell; her stepfather Courtney R. Stanton; her brother Roger A. Russell, M.D.; and her sister Margaret D. Warren.

The family would also like to thank all the care givers that made things bearable for Linda during her sickness the last three years.
