Jeffery Lee Wilmoth
March 15th, 1962 - November 15th, 2024
Jeffery Lee Wilmoth was born in Maryland on March 15, 1962 and flew to the heavens on November 15, 2024. Although Jeff lived all over the world while in the Air Force (retired Major - NavMoth), home was in Olympia with beloved wife Diane who he met at age 14 and always called his “Gorgeous Girl”. They remained friends over the years and united in love 14 years ago.
If you met Jeff, you were a friend, if you were a friend, you were family. Jeff was always first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was as project assistant, food, transportation, a sympathetic ear – or a Heimlich at a local restaurant.
Full of love and laughter, movie quotes and funny songs – his personality and generosity filled the room and your heart. His hugs were real and genuine.
A member of the UW Husky Hall of Fame, he was proud of his Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl rings – and his HOF ring and jacket. Jeff joined the Masons while stationed in England and inherited his father-in-law’s Masonic ring which he often wore.
Any holiday was an excuse to celebrate and decorate. The Griswold’s were no match for his Christmas lights and inspired neighborly challenges and enduring friendships.
He never left the house without a hat and has a large collection from derbies to skimmers to Husky heads! Every holiday had a special hat – along with the Santa hat he wore when dressed as Santa making special deliveries or the Easter Bunny delivering chocolate eggs.
Although our hearts are broken, the sky is a bit brighter with Jeff’s shining star.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Diane, immediate family in Olympia and Texas, best friend Derreck, and extended family all over the world. He was predeceased by his father William, brother Curt, and father-in-law, Jack.
At Jeff’s request, no funeral will be held. A celebration of love may be scheduled next Spring.
Remembrances in his name are encouraged to charities that support children, disabled veterans, or pancreatic cancer research.
