Bradford Trenton Griffith, 38, of Oakboro, NC, passed away on November 12, 2024. Born on March 28, 1986, Brad was known for his unwavering loyalty and fierce protectiveness, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. His love was big and loud, encompassing his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. Brad's life was marked by a profound commitment to his family and his country.

Brad enlisted in the US Army in 2004, embarking on a distinguished military career that saw him rise from the rank of Private to First Sergeant. Throughout multiple deployments to the Middle East, he demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership in the global war on terror. Not only was he recognized as an excellent marksman, but he also dedicated his spare time to competitive pistol shooting and weapons instruction, sharing his passion and expertise with others as a firearms instructor. Brad finished his military service with the rank of First Sergeant in the 98th TD.

Beyond his military service, Brad was an ardent outdoorsman, reveling in activities like camping, hunting, fishing, and shooting. Brad's beloved dog, Luna, who chose him as much as he chose her, was a constant companion on his outdoor adventures. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his devotion to his family, particularly his two daughters, who were the absolute lights of his life.

Brad leaves behind his wife, Madison Griffith; daughters, Sadie and Charlotte Griffith; nephew, Braxton Loflin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Pam Griffith; sister, Gretchen Griffith; and several comrades in arms, with whom he proudly served.

Brad's legacy is one of love, courage, and devotion. His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service to celebrate Brad's life will be held at Coleman's Creek Outdoor Range in Ellerbe, NC, on Friday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. The family invites attendees to eschew traditional black attire and dress appropriately for the weather, as the service will take place outdoors. A meal will follow immediately after the service, where friends and family can share memories and honor Brad's legacy.
