William Charles “Skip” Boettcher peacefully left this world November 10th, 2024 with his loving wife Jean, and sister Mary Lou, holding his hands, and beloved family friend Christine by his side. Though making positive progress in his battle with cancer, due to his weakened immune system, he ultimately succumbed to complications from Covid.

Born October 11th, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of Eleonore and Charles Boettcher, married Jean E. Roubik on December 14th, 1974 and moved to Colorado in 1981, where they eventually settled in Bailey, Colorado.

He is survived by Jean, his beloved wife of 50 years, and Mary Lou Boettcher, his loving sister. Further survived by sisters-in-law Barbara Heston (John), Joan Post, Patricia Sevela (Ramon Lourido), and Mary Shaw (Robert Jr.); nieces and nephews Joshua Boettcher, Robert Shaw, Zachary Sevela, Karen Newell, Nicole Welhouse (Zachary), Kellie Pearson (Devin); and extended family and friends.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eleanore Boettcher, Jean's parents, Rudolph and Dorothy Roubik, brothers-in-law Michael Sevela and Marvin Post.

Skip was known for his hard work, artistic nature, and willingness to help others. He dedicated many years to his craft as a carpenter, a career that showcased his meticulous attention to detail and creativity.  He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, woodworking, and other activities that reflected his love for nature and hands-on engagement.

Skip volunteered for the US Forestry Service, maintaining mountain trails for hiking and riding, and volunteered for Jefferson County Open Space parks, as well as other organizations.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 12 to 3pm at the Aspen Park Community Center,  26215 Sutton Road, Conifer, Colorado.   An additional celebration will be held in Wisconsin in spring/summer 2025.

Those wishing to honor Skip’s memory may consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Bear Paw Connections, an animal sanctuary, www.bearpawconnections.com, or a charity of your choosing.
